Mariana is a bilingual licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist. She is passionate about engaging children and their caregivers in meaningful therapeutic exchanges that foster self-awareness and motivate growth. Mariana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida International University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University.
Mariana’s clinical background includes a variety of settings, including school based mental health, outpatient community counseling, as well as inpatient psychiatric group therapy and case management. Mariana has a broad range of clinical experience working with individuals and groups in the following areas: depression, anxiety, behavioral and discipline challenges, self-harm, family and relationship conflict, trauma and abuse, suicide assessment and risk reduction, as well as self-image and self-esteem. Mariana utilizes a variety of techniques and skills drawn from various therapeutic modalities including Child Centered Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, CBT, Solution Focused, DBT, mindfulness and relaxation.
As a bilingual professional, Mariana is proud to offer her services in both English and Spanish.
